I am so excited to be a part of the 4K400 Team this summer! As a part of this team, I will be running 400 miles relay style from Baltimore to Boston from June 5 - June 12.
As the Ulman Foundation says "Cancer Changes Lives" they also say "so do we," and I am a testament to that. My life completely changed five years ago when I was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma at 20 years old. Chemotherapy is the hardest thing I have ever done.
When I got involved with Ulman through the Cancer to 5k Raleigh team in the Fall of 2019, my life completely changed for the better. This team, this essential program to Ulman's mission, helped me to fall in love with exercising after cancer, and especially running. I grew up in a family of runners and I never thought I could love running so much to run a half marathon, which I trained for in the Fall of 2021, thanks to Cancer to 5k starting me on a path towards running. (I am completely in love and obsessed with running!) Ulman foundation has given me the wonderful gift of friendship with each and every person on the Raleigh Cancer to 5k team, and especially my roommate, Aimee. (You can read that story on the Ulman Foundation Blog). Ulman has helped me heal from the trauma that is a young adult cancer diagnosis through exercise, but also through art and online community during the online Ato Project sessions I attended during the pandemic.
I am so beyond excited to give back to an organization that truly means so much to me by participating in the adventure of a lifetime! However, I need your help. With your support, and support of Ulman's mission, we can help other young adult cancer patients like me find the support and community they need!
I will reach the ultimate 5 years of remission milestone on June 13, the day after the team arrives in Boston! Your support will help me celebrate all week leading up to that day!

ULMAN FOUNDATION
Each year more than 89,000 young adults are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Young adults (ages 15-39) face a variety of unique challenges with a cancer diagnosis including social isolation, fertility preservation, insurance concerns, delayed diagnosis, and survivorship.
The Ulman Foundation changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, Ulman is able to provide free services and resources for the young adult cancer community through programs that focus on patient support services, housing, survivorship, and scholarship. Learn more about young adult cancer and our impact here.
