Shelby Panter
Hi friends and family! Welcome to my fundraising page. Please help me reach my goal of raising $4500 for the Ulman Foundation for young adults battling cancer. With your help, I will be joining a team of 25-30 young adults to bike 4000+ miles from Baltimore, MD to San Fransisco, CA to raise money for the Ulman Foundation.
What's my story? Why am I biking 4000+ miles across the country?
- As some of you know, I did my masters internship for a cancer-exercise program called BFitBWell (it’s awesome, check it out if you need an internship) out in CO and fell in love with the cancer population. I am riding for all the cancer warriors that showed up to exercise, fatigued and exhausted, after chemo/radiation because it made them feel so much better! I was inspired by every one of my participants in the program and want to ride for them, as well as spread the importance of exercise oncology for the mental, physical & emotional wellbeing of all cancer survivors 💪🏼
Where does the money go?
- 100% of the funds we raise will go to help Ulman provide college scholarships, patient navigation services, housing, the Cancer to 5K program, and other resources to 15-39 years battling cancer.
ULMAN FOUNDATION
Each year more than 72,000 young adults are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Young adults (ages 15-39) face a variety of unique challenges with a cancer diagnosis including social isolation, fertility preservation, insurance concerns, delayed diagnosis, and survivorship.
The Ulman Foundation changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, Ulman is able to provide free services and resources for the young adult cancer community through programs that focus on patient support services, housing, survivorship, and scholarship.
