One example of the great work the Ulman Foundation does is the Ulman House: a free “home away from home” for adolescents and young adults battling cancer. It was established just a year ago and already has had such an impact on many young adults & their families as they face a cancer diagnosis/treatment. My name is Katie, and during summer 2020 I will be running across US to raise money and awareness for the Ulman Foundation, benefitting young adults impacted by cancer.
Yes, you read that right. I'll be running from Baltimore to San Francisco. 4,000+ miles, 49 days, 25 runners, 1 great cause.
I am joining the 4k for Cancer team to make a difference and be a part of something greater than myself. Cancer unfortunately touches everyone's lives in one way or another, and over 72,000 young adults are diagnosed with the disease every year. By fundraising and physically challenging myself over the course of 7 weeks, I want to support those young adults and others affected by cancer, run for those who cannot, and show that no one faces this battle alone. Along with raising funds and counting miles, each day of the run will be dedicated to someone whose life has been touched by cancer.
Want to help?
My goal is to raise $6,000! With this in mind, I am asking for your help. Please consider donating; every dollar I raise will go directly to the Ulman Foundation -- and it's an incredible cause. Every bit helps. If you are unable to donate I encourage you to share this with friends, family, coworkers, anyone!
Thank you for the support!
Each year more than 72,000 young adults are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Young adults (ages 15-39) face a variety of unique challenges with a cancer diagnosis including social isolation, fertility preservation, insurance concerns, delayed diagnosis, and survivorship.
The Ulman Foundation changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, Ulman is able to provide free services and resources for the young adult cancer community through programs that focus on patient support services, housing, survivorship, and scholarship.
