Jack's 4K for Cancer 2020 Fundraising Page

Jack Donahue

Jack Donahue

This country is full of good people and natural wonders. By raising money for the Ulman Foundation and biking 4000 miles from Maryland to California, I aim to experience beauty of the US in honor of those who cannot, and show that we all stand together against cancer. Please consider supporting me in helping all the individuals and families fighting their own battles. Every dollar counts, so thank you for any donation you are able to make.

I ride for Kelly Donahue and Diane Donahue, my mother and grandmother. Both sought to make the world a better place every day in any way they could, touched many hearts, and did everything to give my sister and I a good life even after they were gone. I know countless others all around the world are experiencing the same loss, and I am ready to take on any struggles this ride presents in their memory. As my mom taught me in her final days, loss is not an excuse to stand back, but instead a reminder to step up.

A little on myself, I am a Sophomore at Northeastern University studying Mechanical Engineering and Physics. I have long cultured a love for the outdoors through Boy Scouts and rowing, and have grown to love biking through exploring the Boston area and working at a local bike shop. I heard of the Ulman 4K through two of my friends participating in 2019, and couldn't think of a better way to do what I love, remember those I love, and help others keep those they love, all at the same time.

Thank you for your support, and feel free to ask any questions.

Each year more than 72,000 young adults are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Young adults (ages 15-39) face a variety of unique challenges with a cancer diagnosis including social isolation, fertility preservation, insurance concerns, delayed diagnosis, and survivorship.

The Ulman Foundation changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, Ulman is able to provide free services and resources for the young adult cancer community through programs that focus on patient support services, housing, survivorship, and scholarship.
