We've started the official run training plan! I'm currently doing around 20 miles a week, but we're starting to increase our mileage! I'm in the gym 6 times a week! Getting those gains :)
Next summer I will spend 7 weeks running across the country with a relay team to raise money for the Ulman Foundation.
I've started running about two years ago, and getting to the point where I can feel confident running across the country is incredible. The strength and power I feel helps me through every aspect of my life.
However, the ability to do this is a huge privilege. Every year, 70,000 young people are diagnosed with cancer. The fear and anxiety that comes with that diagnosis can be crippling. So many people in this country are bankrupted by their medical care. That's where the Ulman Foundation comes in.
The Ulman Foundation provides scholarships, support groups, classes, and events for young people with cancer. The Ulman Foundation created the Ulman House, which gives young people with cancer and their families a place to stay for free while being treated. These patients can interact with others their age going through the same thing and don't have to worry about the added cost or the isolation of a hotel room.
4000 miles is really far, but I'm excited to spend my summer making a difference. Please help me support Ulman Foundation by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Ulman Foundation's great cause! Additionally, you can ask me how you can get involved too.
Please consider making a donation to this amazing organization.
Each year more than 72,000 young adults are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Young adults (ages 15-39) face a variety of unique challenges with a cancer diagnosis including social isolation, fertility preservation, insurance concerns, delayed diagnosis, and survivorship.
The Ulman Foundation changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, Ulman is able to provide free services and resources for the young adult cancer community through programs that focus on patient support services, housing, survivorship, and scholarship.
