Toni Panzera

Hello and Welcome to my Fundraising Page for the 4K for Cancer 2020.

I am an international student from South Africa studying at the University of Denver. Next summer, as part of the Ulman Foundation's 4K for Cancer programme, I will be relay-running 4000+ miles over 49 days across the United States with the Ulman team from Baltimore, MD to San Francisco, CA. The event is in support of young adults who have faced, or are currently facing, cancer.

The Ulman Foundation is a non-profit organisation that seeks to mitigate the negative effects of a cancer diagnosis at a young age by providing free support, services and resources to young people and their families.

My personal connection to the cancer community runs deep. I know of many, many people who have been affected by this awful disease, several of which are my immediate family members. Three years ago I lost my uncle, who was a father to me, to colon cancer. My grandmother had breast cancer and is thankfully in remission now. One of my friends, no older than myself, was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer. This disease does not distinguish, and it has torn the lives of so many families apart.

I run for my uncle, who was taken from us too soon, and who was an ultra-marathon runner himself. I run for every single person who has ever been impacted by cancer, whether directly or indirectly. I run for those who have passed, and those who continue to battle the illness every day.

I run for those who can't.

Join me on my journey to make a difference. Any donation towards my goal will be greatly appreciated and will directly make a difference in someone's life. I will be sharing my journey with my donors on this page throughout the lead-up to the run and during the run, so they too can be a part of the impact I hope to make. Please also follow me and my journey on Facebook ( and Instagram (@tonivaunpanzera)

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. Please don't hesitate to contact me at if you require further information.

Each year more than 72,000 young adults are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Young adults (ages 15-39) face a variety of unique challenges with a cancer diagnosis including social isolation, fertility preservation, insurance concerns, delayed diagnosis, and survivorship.

The Ulman Foundation changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, Ulman is able to provide free services and resources for the young adult cancer community through programs that focus on patient support services, housing, survivorship, and scholarship.
