Hi and Welcome to my Fundraising Page!
I am Tiffany Selph: a junior at the University of Houston pursuing a career in accounting and a passion for running. I fell in love with the sport in 2017 when I decided to train for my first half marathon, a rash decision which I encouraged my little sister to join me in. The 20 week training was brutal and pushed our limits, but I simultaneously discovered the beauty in it and grew an appreciation for the physical abilities I was blessed with. Everything changed though when I ran across the finish line of my first half marathon with my sister. I immediately fell in love with the rush of emotions at that exact moment in time and knew I was ready to set larger goals for myself. Fast forward to current time, I took a look at my running career and realized it was time to set in stone that larger goal I had promised myself years ago. On January 19, 2020... I will be running my first FULL MARATHON! Deciding to take this step opened countless opportunities for me including new friendships, training abilities, and the best by far: 4K. In the middle of my training season, I committed to 4K this summer to run 4,000 miles across America. I know, I am thinking it too… CRAZY RIGHT! With further research into their cause, my calling to this next step grew stronger. I will run in support for young adults who have/ are suffering with cancer or have been affected by a love one who battled the vicious disease. I have been searching for a purpose to fuel my passion of running that God gifted me with and I knew this is exactly what I am looking for.
If you would like to donate towards my journey, every morning I am dedicating my miles to someone who was impacted by cancer by writing a dedication to them (name, date, symbol) on the back of my leg. If you have a loved one who is battling or lost their life due to cancer, please reach out to me as I would love to dedicate one of my 49 days running across America in their specific honor.
If you would like to follow my running journey these next few months before my 4k, I have created an Instagram blog @tiffanys_running_world
Please help me support Ulman Foundation by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Ulman Foundation's great cause! Additionally, you can ask me how you can get involved too.
Together, we can make a difference!
Each year more than 72,000 young adults are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Young adults (ages 15-39) face a variety of unique challenges with a cancer diagnosis including social isolation, fertility preservation, insurance concerns, delayed diagnosis, and survivorship.
The Ulman Foundation changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, Ulman is able to provide free services and resources for the young adult cancer community through programs that focus on patient support services, housing, survivorship, and scholarship.
