Why are you biking across America? Why are you raising money for Cancer Charity?

Growing up, I had two good friends that lost a parent to cancer, and I saw the impact the disease had on them. Yet, it wasn’t until my Aunt, Uncle, and Grandfather were diagnosed that I felt its weight. After my Uncle passed from pancreatic cancer, I understood how fragile life can be. I felt how the mentality of hopelessness can spread beyond the patient in treatment. I felt how helpless I was to cancer. I was afraid of cancer.

When one is diagnosed with cancer, there is a lot out of their control. How long do I have to live? How much can I function during treatment? How much time can I spend with loved ones? These questions can define their daily actions and thoughts.

I don’t want cancer to define my life or anybody else's. I want to take control of my life. I want to channel that fear towards something greater than myself. I want to help raise money for other young people battling cancer. I want to support others to know they aren’t alone in cancer. I want to define my life by the actions I do to better the world and people’s lives around me.

I want to do something my Grandfather would be proud of. I want to do something that my Uncle would be proud of. I want to do something that I’m proud of. That is why I’m biking across America.

I am going on a 70 day, 4,000-mile bike ride across America from June 5 to August 13, 2022. I plan on starting in Baltimore, MD, and finishing in San Fransico, CA. I hope to raise $5,000 for Cancer Charity. Donations are 100% tax-deductible and help provide the Ulman Foundation’s free programs and services supporting young adults facing cancer.

Please help me support Ulman Foundation by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Ulman Foundation's great cause! Additionally, you can ask me how you can get involved too.
Together, we can make a difference!

Your Call to Action,

1. You are invited to the "Cookies for a Cause" charity event. Check the flyer for more details.

2. I would appreciate it if you could share my "Cycling for a Cause" Youtube Video and this Cancer Charity Donation Page with friends and on social media.

3. If you would like to support, each and every donation is appreciated and goes towards young people managing cancer

Each year more than 89,000 young adults are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Young adults (ages 15-39) face a variety of unique challenges with a cancer diagnosis including social isolation, fertility preservation, insurance concerns, delayed diagnosis, and survivorship.

The Ulman Foundation changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, Ulman is able to provide free services and resources for the young adult cancer community through programs that focus on patient support services, housing, survivorship, and scholarship.
